Ramshackle Orchestra is a multi-generational 20+ piece, Bath-based string orchestra (ages ranging from 10-73!), featuring violins, violas, cellos, double bass, guitars and the occaisional penny whistle!

We have performed at Bath Festival's Party in the City and at various other concerts every year since its inception, attracting large audiences and enthusiastic acclaim. With exciting and innovative arrangements, Ramshackle provides a platform for players to explore the indigenous music of a wide range of cultures and communities, as well as raising money for a variety of community causes.

The orchestra was created in 2013 by the passionate Radio Banska fiddler, violin teacher and arranger Nina Trott, who very sadly passed away in January 2017. But her hard work and inspiration created an atmospheric and eclectic repertoire of lilting Celtic folk, passionate gypsy tunes, Klezmer laments and mysterious airs from the wilder reaches of Hungary and Transylvania.
