About the Orchestra
The Ramshackle Orchestra is a string-based orchestra in Bath (UK) playing an eclectic mix of world folk music, such as Celtic folk, passionate gypsy tunes, Klezmer, laments and mysterious airs from the wilder reaches of Hungary and Transylvania.
Our Musical Director is Seona Pritchard, a professional musican, arranger, teacher, Klezmer and folk specialist.
The orchestra was created in 2013 by Nina Trott. Nina was a gifted violin player, teacher and arranger, who had a particilar passion for Klezmer music. She brought together players of all ages and ability to form an inter-generational ensemble who could perform in public in their local communities - sharing fabulous music and fun whilst boosting players confidence and skills.
